In collaboration with the Tourist Office of Beringen, ‘t Hooghuys conjured the market of Beringen into a medieval market with lots of tents and stalls with authentic traders and demonstrations of traditional crafts (tinsmith, candle maker, blacksmith…).
Furthermore, we provided a falconry show, an armory stand, a fortune teller tent and a “shield-bearer school” in which children can grow up to be a knight’s squire.
To make everything even more realistic, we made troubadours walk through the crowd and let a dexterous magician surprise the crowd with his amazing tricks. Also, watch out for the dastardly beggar: pickpocketing is not his style, but wheedling money is his second nature!
Sunday is part of the “Beringen Breugelt” weekend, coupled with a cultural evening pub crawl on Saturday.
