Brief history
For the first time in history, you can stay in the Happaert House. A house with history and character, where you can write history with your own organization? The history of the Happaert House is one of knights and mayors, professors, dignitaries and artists. They lived, worked, ruled and held remarkable discussion evenings in the house. This grandeur is still standing effortlessly to this day.
When knight and mayor Jan Happaert placed the first stones, Antwerp still was the center of the world. Throughout the golden age, the Happaert family ruled the inner city from this house. Even when the Prince of Orange took power in Antwerp, the Happaerts remained loyal to their city. They would provide mayors until 1684. Today, the Happaert House is still a place for inspiration, new ideas, refreshing insights and powerful decisions.
