Brief history
The monumental Castle of Cantecroy, also known as Cantincrode, was originally one of the oldest castles in the province of Antwerp, with parts dating back to the 13th century. The chapel, the gatehouse and the boundary wall of this wonderful domain all date from the flourishing 15th century. A turbulent history has resulted in many outbuildings and restorations. In the 20th century, the whole domain was refurbished according to the original 16th century drawings. Currently, the site has a wide variety of features, including a number of luxury residences, meeting rooms, a wellness center and a grand café.
Possibilities
’t Hooghuys engaged in an exclusive partnership with the current owner, Kasteel Cantecroy NV, to deliver medieval team building, product launches, presentations, company parties and family days. Given the fact that this domain is inhabited, the owner lends the place only between 8AM and 10PM. The impressive, fully walled castle with a large lawn area is preferably used for outdoor events. A medieval banquet under large canopies supplied by our medieval catering service "‘t Cruydt ende Ketel" is perfectly possible for up to 1250 people (seated at the table). Indoors, one can only dispose of the great hall, which is often used as reception area and cloakroom. This authentic space can also be used for receptions up to 100 people.
Capacity
The Castle of Cantecroy has only very limited indoor facilities. The great hall in the gatehouse has a capacity of 100 people with a reception or walking diner formula. Outdoor events can be organized up to 2000 attendees. Parking is in cooperation with the nearby FORT IV.
