Come and relive with us, along with your relations (and their families), the heroic scenes that took place deep into the 15th century on the tournament grounds around ‘t Hooghuys in Berlaar on Saturday 20 and Sunday, May 21, 2017.
Quondam, meaning “earlier” in Latin, is annually visited by more than 10,000 visitors and has rapidly become the most competitive knight tournament in the Lowlands.
Just like in the 15th century, the jousting on horseback, the sword fighting and the archery tournaments are the center of the attention. More than 500 re-enactors from 12 countries put up their authentic tents around these tournament fields. Walk around on the medieval market, try some of the traditional crafts like tin foundry, candle making or blacksmithing, drink from medieval goblets and feel the thundering cannons during the battle.
Be enchanted by falconers, fire eaters, troubadours, storytellers and magicians, enjoy the falconry show and encourage your favorite knight at the joust.
With an activity card, young and old can not only put their hands to work in the “schield-bearer school” and the crafts village, but they can also visit the carnival and the obstacle course.
Additionally, the youngest can also participate in “the battle of the little man”, have their face painted or achieve a real knight’s certificate.
